Award Sponsored by Carolina First

Michael Batchelor, Business Person of the YearCongratulations to North Greenville Hospital's Michael Batchelor, who was named the Business Person of the Year for TRABA at an award ceremony March 9. The award presentation follows:

Throughout our lives, we all hear a “voice” that only we hear.  This is sometimes referred to as “a calling”.  Some may chose not to listen, but the ones who decide to listen, simply act upon it.  And as Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

This year’s recipient has definitely heard the “call” and has a strong belief in core values such as, respect, caring, honesty, integrity, and trust.  He strives for excellence and is known to “Walk the walk” everyday.

Michael BatchelorOur recipient is very committed to his wife and 4 children, his church and community.  He is involved in numerous community projects such as the Open Doors Campaign, Relay for Life and North Greenville University Booster Club.  He currently serves on the boards of the George I Theisen YMCA, YMCA Metro Board, SCHA Quality Advisory Board, and the National Association of Long Term Hospitals board.  He has also served as past president of the TRABA and his enthusiasm has been called “contagious” by the people around him.  He is currently the President of North Greenville Hospital and is the driving force behind providing all new businesses in the area with wall dispensers and sanitation hand wash.

Ladies and Gentleman, it gives me great pleasure to introduce our Travelers Rest Area Business Association, Business Person of the Year 2010: Mr. Michael Batchelor.
